Custom G-Code Generator
This past summer, I created a program that takes in an image and generates G-Code to print the image on a 3D printer using red, green, and blue lines drawn at different angles. It was an interesting challenge figuring out how to deal with the fact that if you combine red green and blue on a screen, you get white, but when you combine them with ink you get a dark color.
Piranha Plant Robot
My little brother is a huge fan of Mario, so I built a little Piranha Plant robot with him. It was a lot of fun as he built did all of the decorating. My little brother wanted to show it to his friends, so we got in contact with his teacher and I tried to teach his class about robots while having fun.
Waddle Bot
I built Waddle Bot during a virtual orientation program for MIT. The goal for the materials they sent was to create a hand sanitizer dispenser, but I felt like making something different. It was a fun and interesting challenge to figure out how to get the robot to move with just 3 servos. The "tail" on the back serves to roll the robot to the side so that an arm can move back to the front without pushing the robot backwards.
Macgregor Hall Cowbell
During last semester, I was bored late one night and wanted to create something ridiculous. As I was walking past this painting, inspiration struck. I made a cardboard "cowbell" with an ultrasonic sensor that would light up LED's that I taped over the eyes if someone got close. My suitemates all found it hilarious.
Eyebrow Helmet
My friend and I were bored one night, with an abundance of cardboard boxes, and we decided it would be cool to make a helmet. After a lot of joking around, the helmet got more and more ridiculous looking. We added on servo motors to actuate the eyebrows, and the final version used an IR receiver and small remote control to switch between expressions.
