"Walky Boi 1.0"
"Walky Boi 1.0" is an Arduino-based bipedal robot that I developed by myself for the fun of it. The robot uses a pre-recorded set of movement commands on a loop in order to walk. I found that I knew surprisingly little about how two-legged things actually walk, and figuring this out was one of the most difficult aspects of the project. This led me to recording myself walking backwards across a room and analyzing it as an attempt at biomimicry. Unsurprisingly, many of the first tests of "Walky Boi" were comically unsuccessful.
Eventually, after a lot of software and design iterations, I got "Walky Boi" to take his first steps: to the tune of "The Eye of the Tiger", of course.
